American Airlines May 1 began offering first-class and business-class passengers on select international and domestic flights free video-on-demand (VOD) movies, music and television programming. The four-month test program on McDonald Douglas 80 and Boeing 767 aircraft included a 7-inch handheld monitor for international flights pre-loaded with 12, feature-length movies (some not yet released on DVD), 50 music CDs, 15 hours of TV programming and 14 American Airlines-branded audio channels. A 4.3-inch monitor for domestic MD 80 flights featured five movies, music and three hours of TV programming.
