Amazon.ca Invites Shoppers To Make A Wish

23 Oct, 2002 By: Hive News

E-tailer Amazon.ca, the Canadian wing of Amazon.com, has launched the Wish Lists online gift registry for the coming holiday season.

Customers may create a Wish List online at Amazon.ca and automatically send the list to friends and family to simplify their holiday shopping. Any of Amazon.ca's 1.5 million books, CDs, videos and DVDs can be added to a Wish List simply by clicking the "Add to Wish List" button on any product's detail page.

"We've introduced Wish Lists in response to overwhelming demand from Amazon.ca customers," said Marven Krug, general manager for Amazon.ca. "In keeping with the ease and simplicity of shopping at Amazon.ca, items can be added to a list from their product detail pages, at any time during the shopping experience."

Customers can also add personal comments to their Wish List, highlighting favorite items or identifying gift selections for different family members maintained on one master list. Gift-givers can search for a Wish List by its creator's last name or e-mail address, and can add items from the Wish List to their Shopping Cart with just one click. Amazon.ca will ship the gift directly to the Wish List's owner.

Wish Lists can also provide gift-giving guidance for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.

In addition to launching Wish Lists, Amazon.ca today introduced Listmania, a feature that lets customers create lists of their favorite products and display them for others. Creating a Listmania list is easy-- simply click the "Add your list" link that appears in the Listmania section of any page of search results, and begin adding products from Amazon.ca's Books, Music, Video and DVD Stores.
