The 80-episode, short-form series debuted on MySpace in April, and wrapped up June 20. The series of 90-second episodes received an Emmy nomination. It follows the drama and teenage angst that comes with five girls being nominated for prom queen.
“The wonderful thing about producing in the new-media landscape is that fans can reach shows like ‘Prom Queen' on a number of platforms,” Eisner said. “Amazon Unbox gives shows like ‘Prom Queen' longevity and serves as a new mass medium and unique way for the show's followers to watch.”
The download can be purchased for $9.99 or rented for 30 days for $3.99.
“More and more people are going to the Internet for the latest compelling, cutting-edge video,” said Amazon Unbox Director Roy Price.
Amazon Unbox has more than 10,000 TV shows, movies and other video content in its library. Its service can be used via the PC or TV with TiVo.
