Amazon is making its Prime Video subscription streaming service available as a standalone option for $8.99 — the same price as Netflix’s entry-level plan.

Sony DADC Adding Dolby Vision to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Authoring Tools

Sony Digital Audio Disc Corp.’s New Media Solutions April 15 said it will include Dolby Vision in their Ultra HD Blu-ray authoring tools — capable of creating 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray titles with Dolby Vision later this year.

RLJ Entertainment Widens Fiscal-Year Loss

RLJ Entertainment, owner of Image Entertainment and Acorn Media, April 15 reported a fiscal-year (ended Dec. 31, 2015) loss of $54.9 million — up 159% from a loss of $21.2 million during the previous-year period. Revenue declined nearly 10% to $124.9 million from $137.6 million.
