Allumination Joins ContentFilm5 Sep, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf
Allumination FilmWorks, along with its recent acquisition of defunct United American Video Corporation, has officially come under the umbrella of publicly traded United Kingdom-based ContentFilm plc.
The deal, which the companies struck early this summer, was finalized Tuesday by Allumination's owners Kerry McCluggage and Jeff Saganzsky. McCluggage will serve as chairman of the newly formed company, which retains the Allumination FilmWorks name. Cheryl Freeman remains CEO.
With the purchase of UAV, Allumination garnered 700 catalog titles and UAV's direct line to Wal-Mart.
With the second step of the transaction in place, “we plan to aggressively work to create an even more significant U.S. DVD operation and a full-service distribution platform,” McCluggage said.
Freeman said the UAV library adds genres to Allumination's cache that will allow the supplier to hit new markets.
