Allumination FilmWorks's American Beat Records Releases 40th Reissue

15 Aug, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey

Allumination FilmWorks is marching to its own beat.

The home video company's recently launched American Beat Records music label will hit its 40th CD release soon. The label specializes in reissues of classic albums with direct input from the artists. Artist compilations are also featured, and many of the albums have never been released on CD before in the United States.

“What really solidified the need for me to create a reissue label was when my oldest daughter went away to college. She would come home or call me and say that she'd found a new artist that she loved, and very often it was a classic rock or new wave artist that I had grown up listening to,” said Dave Foss, VP of American Beat Records. “The difference was that she only knew the hits and had no idea that these artists had an entire catalog of great material.”

Recent albums include Nils Lofgren's Wonderland, Ian Hunter's All of the Good Ones are Taken, Joe Jackson's Beat Crazy, Chuck Berry's Rockit and Willie Nelson's Texas in my Soul.
