Affiliate Program Boosts Buy.com

Buy.com reports strong year-over-year growth for its Affiliate Connection Program, which lets Web site owners collect up to a 5 percent commission on sales that originate from clickthroughs from affiliate sites.

The program, begun in 2000, also provides participating Web sites with access to many Buy.com marketing tools such as banner ads, text links, promotions and coupons.Since the first quarter of 2003, revenue generated by the Affiliate Connection Program increased by 20 percent and remains on track to continue growing at the same rate through the second quarter, a spokesperson said.

“We continually adapt our promotions and offers to help affiliates market the products that will make them the most money,” said Melissa Salas, Buy.com's affiliate manager.

Among Buy.com's affiliates are LinkShare, Ebates, Fat Wallet, TechBargains and other bargain hunting or comparison-shopping Web sites.
