A&E Home Video Plays Vintage Ball

25 Apr, 2005 By: Erik Gruenwedel

A&E Home Video has hit a home run with a three-year deal with Major League Baseball Productions to create and distribute up to four collector's edition DVD box sets annually from World Series and All-Star Games footage dating back to 1943.

The archived material also includes 57 complete no-hitters.

An A&E spokesperson said the company will announce its first baseball title — scheduled for summer release — in two weeks.

In related news, Shout! Factory announced May 17 it would release Dodger Blue: The Championship Years, on DVD ($19.98), the first of four DVD releases scheduled this year from MLB archives.
