Adult Entertainment Auction Site Adds Casting Call14 Aug, 2002 By: Hive News
Adult entertainment and online auction site xpix.com today announced the launch of Casting Call, its latest addition to selection of adult entertainment offerings.
With Casting Call, xpix.com will provide an opportunity for producers of adult material to sell, promote and advertise new and excess inventory as well as seek out new talent.
Casting Call allows producers of adult material the opportunity to access adult performers around the world. By signing on to xpix.com, producers can market and sell existing products on the auction site while conducting searches for talent on the adult job board, a spokesperson said.
"The creation of Casting Call responds to the growing demand of individuals interested in working in the adult entertainment market," said John McDonald, president and CEO of xpix inc. "In any given week we receive thousands of email inquiries from aspiring models and actors. Casting Call gives us the opportunity to service this demand and offer producers a different solution to finding new talent. We anticipate another revenue stream for the company by charging jobseekers a nominal monthly fee to access the jobs advertised. However, there will be no charge for the advertiser to post ads."
xpix inc. launched xpix.com in May. It was designed to fill the void created in the wake of Yahoo! Auctions' and eBay's decisions to discontinue or downsize the sale of adult materials with 17 Web sites covering amateur adult entertainment, retail and cartoons and humor.
Research has shown that the online adult auction business is a vast market, the spokesperson said. In a troubled economy, it is still one industry that is making a profit.
