The critically acclaimed anime epic Millennium Actress, which has been winning awards around the world, will make its debut on DVD Oct. 28 from DreamWorks Home Entertainment.

Renowned anime director Satoshi Kon's Millennium Actress won the Japan Agency of Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival Grand Prize along with Hayao Miyzaki's Academy Award-winning Spirited Away, and has won awards at film festivals in Montreal, Korea, Singapore and elsewhere.

The film is described as a blend of fantasy and reality, melding past and present as a reporter discovers a mysterious key that unlocks the secrets to the life of a legendary actress who vanished at the height of her career. The DVD is priced at $22.95 (prebook Sept. 23).

DreamWorks will launch a marketing campaign designed to build awareness among the film's core demographic of anime and film enthusiasts, and will include advertising and screenings at colleges, anime conventions and film festivals. The Anime Network will preview a sneak peek of the DVD footage.
