A Victory for 'Pearl Harbor' At Last?

24 May, 2002 By: Kurt Indvik

Pearl Harbor is the number one selling DVD of all time, according to a two-page spread ad in today's edition of Daily Variety, placed there by Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

Previously, that spot was generally accepted to have been occupied by DreamWorks' Shrek which, in January of this year, reported sales of 7.9 million DVDs.

Buena Vista is not releasing specific numbers regarding Pearl Harbor sales figures, a spokesman said.

A DreamWorks spokesperson said there would be no comment on the ad from the company.

Neither studio would provide current sales numbers. Buena Vista's victory may be short-lived, with Warner's Harry Potter hitting stores Tuesday.
