A Prescription for More 'Cowbell'11 Jan, 2006 By: Holly J. Wagner
Apple is expected to announce from this week's Macworld conference that it will offer classic sketches from "Saturday Night Live" on its iTunes Music Store for $1.99 each.
Apple's iTunes site has been offering video downloads since last year, including content from the NBC, ABC and USA television networks, as well as the Sci Fi Channel and some Pixar animated shorts. Typically shows are offered one day after they are broadcast.
After a single skit offered for free became an online sensation, NBC and Apple are expected to announce more SNL content offerings. Other NBC shows on the service include "The Office," "Surface," and classics like the original "Dragnet" and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents."
