'24' Season Premiere Comes to DVD Day After TV Premiere16 Jan, 2007 By: Jessica Wolf
“24” fans are getting a DVD treat this season.
Twentieth Century Fox today is releasing a DVD that includes the first four episodes of the Emmy-winning action show's sixth season, as well as a 12-minute sneak peek of next week's episode. The $14.98-pricfed disc is on store shelves today, just one day after the show returned to the Fox Network on Sunday and Monday nights.
“24” producers seem to have fully embraced the DVD-viewing mentality of the fast-paced real-time drama. This is the second season of the Kiefer Sutherland starrer to debut over the course of two nights, with two back-to-back episodes each night — making up a four-hour premiere.
Commercials aired during last night's episode telling viewers they can pick up the four-episode DVD and get a look at what's to come.
It's the first time a show's premiere has hit DVD just after the network broadcast.
Warner Home Video released the highly rated final episode of “Friends” the day after it aired on television.
