As Rovi, formerly Macrovision Solutions, rolls out its next-generation Liquid Guide for Internet-connected HDTVs and other consumer electronics devices early next year, the company has changed more than its name. The company’s chief evangelist, Richard Bullwinkle, joined Rovi in 2007.

Industry veterans Rich Wolff and Richard Ross have launched Breaking Glass Pictures, a new North American distribution company. The name comes from a 1995 David Bowie song, which the pair says reflects their intention to release a wide range of provocative and challenging films from all genres.
