Netflix Links to Facebook

Netflix March 24 said it had entered into a deal with social networking site Facebook that allows Netflix subscribers to integrate with their Facebook accounts.

More importantly, when a Netflix subscriber (who is also on Facebook) rates a DVD rental, a one-to-five-star rating will be posted on their Facebook page.

Applying a six degrees-of-separation philosophy, the Los Gatos, Calif.-based online DVD rental pioneer believes the ratings could become more widely disseminated among Facebook’s 175 million registered users.

“By integrating with Facebook Connect, Netflix members can now share their movie-watching experiences even more easily than before, allowing for greater exchange of movie recommendations with their friends,” said Gibson Biddle, VP of product management with Netflix.
