Streaming service gets two nominations in the ‘Best Actress in a TV series, Drama’ category

Netflix Dec. 12 picked up where it left off in the Emmy’s, garnering six Golden Globe Awards nominations, including “Best TV Series, Drama” for original political show, “House of Cards.”

The much-hyped series also picked nominations for its main stars, Kevin Spacey for “Best Actor in a TV Series, Drama,” and Robin Wright for “Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama.”

“Cards” picked up a third nomination in the “Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie,” for Corey Stoll.

Other nominations went to Jason Bateman (“Best Actor, TV Series Comedy”) for Netflix’s revival of “Arrested Development,” and Taylor Schilling (“Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama”) for original women’s prison dramedy, “Orange is the New Black.”

Schilling and Wright are competing in the same category.

The 71st Annual Golden Globes Awards will be telecast Jan. 12 featuring hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
