SVOD leader offering lawn signs to LA County residents to help promote Emmy campaigns for original series ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Arrested Development’
Netflix is offering lawn signs to L.A. Country households interested in helping the SVOD pioneer promote its first Emmy campaigns for original series, “House of Cards,” (“Outstanding Drama Series”) and “Arrested Development” (“Outstanding Comedy Series”).
The campaign, which includes Netflix reps going door-to-door in Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, Studio City, and Los Feliz where TV Academy voters reportedly live or commute through, offers households a free six-month subscription, $50 AmEx gift card or $50 donation to the Red Cross for participating.
Netflix, which has an office in Beverly Hills, also took out “For Your Consideration” billboards along some of W. LA’s most heavily trafficked streets.
The SVOD pioneer kicked off the campaign June 17 by commandeering a BBQ food truck in front of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences building featuring food favorites of Frank Underwood, the fictitious House majority whip played by Kevin Spacey in “Cards.”
Hulu also has orignal programming among Emmy consideration.
Emmy ballots are due June 28. The awards are televised Sept. 22 on CBS.
