Netflix Bows ‘Just for Kids’ Interface on PS312 Mar, 2012 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Netflix has released an updated user interface designed for children ages 12 and younger, accessible on the PlayStation 3.
Launched last August on Netflix’s website, Nintendo Wii and Apple TV, the “Just for Kids” platform allows children to scroll through content without accessing titles with inappropriate content or images.
Los Gatos, Calif.-based Netflix claims its subscribers have watched more than 1 billion hours of children’s programming since launch.
“That’s a lot considering that all of those hours are commercial free,” David Watson, director of product innovation at Netflix, wrote in a blog post.
Separately, Netflix unveiled a new Google-supported link that enables subscribers to find the most direct answers to myriad questions regarding service, connectivity to mobile devices and other issues.
