Android Netflix Applications Updated25 Sep, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey
Android-powered smartphones have an updated Netflix application, which displays more titles and galleries, and offers a new browse screen option to continue watching previously started content where users left off.
“Compared to the previous version, the new Netflix experience on Android phones is much more immersive,” Chris Jaffe, director of product innovation at Netflix, wrote in a blog post. “It is much closer to the Netflix experience on tablets, which got a major upgrade late last year.”
The instant queue now is available on the home screen just below a top 10 list for users, and there are now several personalized rows filled with content recommendations.
The browse menu offers access to an extensive list of genre galleries and tapping on any given title will provide info for that title. A double tap will start instant playback.
