Barnes & Noble Nook Not Involved in Microsoft Mystery Announcement18 Jun, 2012 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Barnes & Noble is not involved in Microsoft's mystery announcement slated momentarily, the bookseller confirmed June 18 to CNET.com, which is blogging the event live.
Microsoft is expected to announce the launch of a tablet computer with Windows RT (Windows 8 OS for mobile devices), which some observers believe will link the device with the Xbox 360 game console for streaming video.
Staged at Milk Studios in Los Angeles, Microsoft sent out invitations to the media late last week -- only divulging the exact location to the media today at 10 a.m. PST.
Microsoft and Barnes & Noble earlier this year inked a $300 million partnership -- lending credence speculation the bookseller's Nook tablet would now include a Windows operating system.
