Judge Dismisses Wii Suit17 Mar, 2009 By: Billy Gil
A patent-infringement lawsuit brought by Fenner Investments Ltd. against Nintendo and its Wii video game console has been dismissed by a U.S. District Court judge.
Fenner alleged the Wii, its controllers and Nintendo’s GameCube console infringed on one of its patents. The lawsuit was dismissed by Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court in Tyler, Texas.
“We are very pleased with the court’s decision,” said Rick Flamm, Nintendo of America’s SVP, legal and general counsel. “Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others.”
