TuneCore.com to Offer iTunes Movie Distribution9 Sep, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey
TuneCore.com, which has been acting as a go-between for music artists and content distributors, is getting into the movie business.
Starting Nov. 18 TuneCore will offer iTunes digital distribution services for production companies, independent filmmakers and record labels to distribute and sell movies and live concerts, with no back-end fees.
TuneCore said it would provide digital conversion of a 60-minute film to iTunes for $550 and $770 for a 90-minute film.
Currently “The Pimp Chronicles Part 1” and “American Hustle” from comedian Katt Williams, the documentary Ballou and the drama Little Chenier: A Cajun Story are in line for the service.
“It is a low, flat fee service that delivers anyone’s music and videos to iTunes … and many other major download sites while taking no rights and no revenue from the sale,” the company said.
