iPhone 3GS Sales Top 1M22 Jun, 2009 By: Billy Gil
Apple said it sold more than 1 million iPhone 3GS models through June 21, the third day after it was released. Additionally 6 million iPhone users have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software upgrade in its first five days of release.
“Customers are voting, and the iPhone is winning,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With more than 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever.”
The iPhone 3GS is faster and more responsive than the previously released iPhone 3G and includes a video camera. The iPhone 3GS is $199 for a 16GB model and $299 for a 32GB model. With the new phone launch, the iPhone 3G price was reduced to $99 for the 8GB model. The 3.0 update is free and features easy video management, allowing iPhone users to directly download movies and TV shows to either their iPhone 3G with software update or to their iPhone 3GS.
