Testronic Adds USB 3.0 Testing

25 Jul, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey

Burbank-based quality control firm Testronic has added USB 3.0, or SuperSpeed USB, to its arsenal of test lab offerings.

Testronic, which does quality assurance for film, TV, games, websites, hardware and software, added the offering after seeing wide acceptance of the USB 3.0 standard worldwide, thanks to its ability to transfer data at up to 5GB per second.

SuperSpeed USB can deliver 10 times the data transfer rate of USB 2.0 and is backwards compatible.

“Our industry is facing a growing need to move data swiftly and securely across the entire digital ecosystem,” said Johan Craeybeckx, Testronic’s CTO. “Testronic is the first test lab in Europe to provide certification-testing services for this valuable technology, and we will continue to stay focused on future developments to meet the needs of our customers. It is challenging to stay ahead of the constantly evolving industry standards, but it is what we do best and we find most engaging.”
