RLJ Entertainment Ups Sylvia George to President of U.S. Division

RLJ Entertainment, which was founded by BET founder Robert Johnson, includes Image Entertainment and Acorn Media Group.
George, who was SVP of marketing with RLJ Entertainment, previously served as VP of sales and marketing for Acorn Media Group, where she oversaw the sales and marketing teams for the Acorn and Acacia fitness brands.
George will be responsible for all of the company’s third-party broadcast, physical and digital in North America and combines RLJ Entertainment’s sales, marketing and supply chain functions for all program lines.
While at Acorn she oversaw the sales and marketing behind the company’s home entertainment releases of “Agatha Christie’s Poirot,” “Foyle’s War,” “Midsomer Murders” and “Upstairs Downstairs,” among many others. George reports to CEO Miguel Penella.
