Miramax Promotes Beth Minehart and Joe Patrick

Miramax Jan. 8 said it promoted Joe Patrick to EVP of worldwide television, and Beth Minehart to EVP of global digital, reporting to Miramax interim CEO Steve Schoch.

Minehart, who joined Santa Monica, Calif.-based Miramax in 2011, will remain responsible for all digital initiatives and sales across the company, and Patrick will remain responsible for all television sales and initiatives across the company.

“Miramax’s global sales organization has grown our distribution to more than 125 countries through both new and traditional platforms, and Joe and Beth have been at the forefront of this expansion,” Schoch said in a statement. “They have also been a driving force in further leveraging the strength of the Miramax sales group, offering distribution in the worldwide marketplace to other highly regarded content owners.”

Since being acquired from The Walt Disney Co. by investor group Colony Capital, Miramax has aggressively sought to mine incremental revenue from its film catalog through domestic and foreign physical and digital distribution agreements.

Founded in 1979 by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Miramax earlier this year signed digital distribution deals with Antenna 3, a Spanish-based multiplatform entertainment distributor, and Demand Holdings, a Chinese VOD service. Miramax also has a physical media distribution agreement with Lionsgate.
