Inception Media Inks Deal With Green Apple Media

4 Feb, 2014 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Inception Media Group Feb. 4 said it has signed a distribution agreement with indie home entertainment vendor Green Apple Media.

Under the deal, Inception will be the exclusive television and non-theatrical distributor of Green Apple’s entire catalog of titles. Inception handles domestic sales and distribution for all Green Apple titles for television and non-theatrical outlets. It will also represent Green Apple for on-demand streaming, specifically to Netflix.

At the recent NATPE market in Miami, Inception sold Green Apple’s Citizen Jane, a feature length crime drama starring Ally Sheedy and Grammy Award-winning artist Meat Loaf, to Lifetime Movie Network.

Headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla., Green Apple is a distributor of independent entertainment on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, download and streaming platforms and cable VOD.

“The Green Apple library consists of a wide variety of films which will provide broadcasters a great selection of content,” Steve Saltman, president of television and digital for Inception, said in a statement. “This agreement enhances our catalog, but most importantly brings new sales opportunities to Green Apple through our extensive relationships with distribution outlets.”

In addition to distributing its own programming, Inception aggregates third-party content and provides sales and distribution services to producers, content management firms, talent agencies and other independent distribution companies in need of a television and digital sales partner.

“Inception brings us an extremely solid sales and distribution network that will enable us to better exploit our content and reach a much broader audience,” Tim Warren, president of Green Apple, said in a statement. “Their industry relationships, expertise in television and understanding of the marketplace will be great assets to us.”
