Dove Foundation to Review Books

14 Jan, 2013 By: Ashley Ratcliff

For more than 21 years the Dove Foundation has placed its “Family Approved” stamp on films through its theatrical and DVD reviews, and the organization recently added books to its review repertoire.

“We’ve always tried to respond to the market demand for our services,” said Dove CEO Dick Rolfe. “And we began moving in the direction of books by reviewing movie screenplays from writers who were looking for our endorsement as a means of attracting producers and investors.”

Such was the case with Sherwood Pictures’ faith-based drama Courageous (distributed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment), when the foundation was asked to review five books based on the film.

Thus far, Dove has published more than 100 book and manuscript reviews. The foundation’s website, www.dove.org, now showcases a books category, in addition to theatrical and DVD reviews.
