10 Sep, 2012 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Hulu Sept. 10 began offering viewers (and Hulu Plus subscribers) for the first time online access to new and catalog shows from the Martha Stewart Network, including the premieres of “From Martha’s Kitchen,” “Emeril’s Table” and “DIY Crafts.”

Hulu, which is co-owned by The Walt Disney Co., NBC Universal and News Corp., said viewers would also have access to Stewart’s popular seasonal content, such as Halloween, holiday and wedding celebrations. Hulu plans to add additional programs in October and throughout the end of the year.

While Hulu and Hulu Plus both embed spot ads in programming, Plus subs have device accessibility — mobile phones, tablets, game consoles, etc. — while Hulu is limited to PCs and Macs.

Showcasing classic cooking ideas, “From Martha’s Kitchen” features favorite recipes, essential techniques and tips for simple weeknight meals and entertaining. Chef Mario Batali guest stars in the premiere episode.

In “Emeril’s Table, ” Lagasse and a group of diners at the chef’s table share food experiences, a cooking lesson, special-interest recipes, and culinary tips, among other topics.

Stewart in “DIY Crafts” brings together her best how-to projects, from scrapbooking and decoupage to handmade gifts and cards, the creative. Funnyman Conan O’Brien joins Martha as they take on portable saws, secateurs and drills to create a twig rack.
