Hulu Sept. 20 said its subscription-based video-on-demand service, Hulu Plus, now is available on eight new Android devices, including the Motorola Droid Bionic, Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Droid X2, LG Revolution, LG G2x, HTC Incredible 2, HTC Evo 3D and HTC Sensation, as well as the HTC Flyer tablet.

A Hulu Plus app, which requires a $7.99 monthly subscription, can be downloaded for free at the Google-based Android Market.

Hulu, which is co-owned and put up for auction by The Walt Disney Co., News Corp. and NBC Universal, has been a popular online destination for repurposed TV programming. Its owners launched Hulu Plus as a means of better monetizing current next-day repurposed TV shows such as Emmy winner “Modern Family,” “Misfits” and “Hell’s Kitchen,” and catalog episodes of “Family Guy” and “The X-Files,” in addition to movies from Miramax and The Criterion Collection.

“Over the past few months, we’ve been rolling out Hulu Plus on several Android devices,” Lonn Lee, senior product manager of Hulu Mobile Applications, said in a blog post. “As promised, we’ve come back with more.”
