Sears Roebuck & Co.’s Blue Electronics Crew through Jan. 23 is offering 8% discounts on all high-definition televisions 46 inches or larger as part of promotion involving company pitchman/quarterback Brett Favre, whose Minnesota Vikings take on the New Orleans Saints Jan. 24, with the winner advancing to the Super Bowl Feb. 7.

Sears, which will extend the deal through Jan. 30 to Sears cardholders only for total electronics purchases of more than $999, also is giving a free Blu-ray Disc player with purchase of select Samsung TVs from Jan. 24 to Feb. 6.

Viewers can watch Brett Favre’s new Sears TV commercials beginning Jan. 24 on YouTube.

Sears Blue Electronics Crew also is offering $150 savings on a Zenith 42-inch Plasma TV, on sale for $499.99 (regularly $649.99); $900 savings on a Samsung 46-inch LED TV, on sale for $1,599 (regularly $2,499).

Finally the national retailer is giving away a free seven-inch tailgate TV to the first 444 (Favre’s jersey number is 4) people who purchase any TV on Jan. 24 after 6 a.m. EST at Sears.com.
