Just a month after releasing its first DVD, New York City-based indie Oscilloscope Pictures will put out the same title as its first Blu-ray Disc.
Gunnin’ for That No. 1 Spot, which had a limited theatrical release over the summer, is a documentary following eight high school basketball stars during a Harlem hoops tournament. The Dec. 2 Blu-ray release will include four previously unreleased instrumental Beastie Boys tracks, deleted scenes, player highlights, interviews and more.
Oscilloscope was founded by Beastie Boys founding member and filmmaker Adam Yauch, and former ThinkFilm VP David Fenkel. The company is aiming for a half dozen theatrical releases each year, along with about a dozen DVD releases.
