MLB Taps Motorola for HD

7 Jan, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey

MLB Network, the new 24-hour cable channel dedicated to Major League Baseball, has tapped Motorola’s digital compression technology to deliver the content in high-def.

“Motorola has a great deal of experience in providing programmers with content-distribution solutions where high picture quality and overall system availability are key factors,” said Bob Wilson, GM for Motorola’s Networked Video Solutions, Broadband Home Solutions business. “MLB Network will be able to implement an end-to-end system that is customized to meet its exacting demands.”
