9 Jan, 2009 By: John Latchem

LG Electronics previewed a few new Blu-ray devices at the 2009 International CES in Las Vegas.

LG’s new Network Attached Storage is configurable to 4TB capacity and has a built-in Blu-ray drive (model N4B1). The device attaches to a network instead of a computer; is compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems; and can stream content to Blu-ray players.

Also previewed was the LG BE08 Blu-ray Disc drive, which offers consumers the ability to “transform the home office into a mini home theater,” according to the announcement. The 8x read-and-write speed can burn a full single-layer 25GB Blu-ray disc in 13 minutes. It also upconverts DVDs. The drive also can burn a double-layered (50GB) Blu-ray Disc.
