GameStop Offering PlayStation 4, Xbox One Software Upgrades in Europe

GameStop Sept. 23 said it will begin offering gamers in Europe upgraded versions of select PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video games compatible with upcoming new-edition gamer systems releasing from Sony and Microsoft.

Gamers in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland this week.

GameStop announced today that beginning this week it will be able to acquire PlayStation 4 or Xbox One standard versions of the same PS3 or 360 title for €14.99.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One are slated to launch at retail in November.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our European customers to enjoy their favorite PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 games until the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions become available,” said Mike Mauler, EVP of international at GameStop. “This is a great example of how GameStop is helping gamers around the world make the transition to the next generation of consoles economical and seamless.”
