Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment May 16 promoted three veteran sales executives led by Don Jeffries, who has been upped to EVP, sales, North America, effective immediately.
Jeffries, who reports to EVP and GM Simon Swart, has been with Fox Home Entertainment since 1997. He oversees Joe Barrett and Greg Hammers, who both have been promoted to SVPs, national sales. Barrett and Hammers joined Fox Home Entertainment in 1998 and 2000, respectively.
The trio has garnered 15 vendor of the year awards within the past five years from retail partners such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy and Trans World Entertainment (which operates the f.y.e. chain). They have broken several national sales records for new release, catalog and television properties across all formats, including for the release of Avatar, which remains the No. 1 selling Blu-ray Disc title of all time.

The promotions come as the home entertainment retail landscape is challenged by the ubiquitous presence of low-cost rentals from such providers as Redbox kiosks and subscription video-on-demand services, among other options.
“Don’s keen insight and ability to deliver across all entertainment categories make him the perfect candidate to lead our sales team,” Swart said in a statement.
