Interpolls, a rich-media technology company, has been selected to promote the DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of best picture Oscar-winner Slumdog Millionaire, streeting March 31 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

The two-week campaign, which launched March 24, includes efforts on social networking sites Facebook and Meebo as well as movie information sites IMDb.com and VideoEgg. Interpolls will provide an expandable ad unit with question-based interactivity and streaming video, with flash-based rich media developed by Avatar Labs.

Interpolls ads also will allow users to e-mail a friend to tell them about the DVD and Blu-ray release directly from the ad, and a calendar reminder function can remind users of the release date.

“Fox Home Entertainment selected Interpolls as our rich-media partner based on the strength of their ability to translate Fox’s goals and objectives into a unique and innovative rich-media execution,” said Mark Levien, executive director of digital marketing at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
