Fox Launches ‘Sons of Anarchy’ App

10 Sep, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey

FX and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment have launched a new application for “Sons of Anarchy,” incorporating features from a previous application and adding new e-commerce and exclusive features.

The application synchs in real time with the show while it broadcasts (starting Sept. 11) or with the season-four Blu-ray Disc, allowing users to shop for items as they appear in the show. Users also can connect with social networks and view alternate scenes, bios and more.

"’Sons of Anarchy’ fans are the most passionate and vocal fans out there,” said show creator Kurt Sutter. “This app gives them everything they've been asking for — amazing high-def graphics, new season-five content, features from previous seasons and access to all our cool SOA merch. And it’s free, bitches."

Toby Chi, creative director for Defy Agency, which developed the application, added: “The SOA app is engineered with an innovative technology, called ‘Perspective,’ that transports the users to the world of SOA with an immersive environment and contains backstories of the characters and club history, as well as bonus production materials, such as deleted scenes and action storyboards.”
