Fox Kicks Off 'Million Moments' Campaign1 Feb, 2011 By: Chris Tribbey
Each month in 2011 will see thematically grouped Blu-ray Discs and DVDs from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s catalog, as part of a marketing campaign dubbed “A Year of a Million Moments.”
February sees a romantic theme, with everything from There’s Something About Mary to An Affair to Remember. March will have comedy, April children’s titles, mom-centric releases in May, hero titles in June and musicals in July. August’s theme will be “to remember,” September will see releases “that are unforgettable,” horror in October, classics for November and holiday moments for December.
Fox will promote product releases with events, national advertising and retail specific promotions. YearOfAMillionMoments.com will include information about specific titles, and each month 16 titles will face off for the crown of “Best Movie Moment,” with consumers encouraged to vote for their favorite movie clip and enter to win DVDs and Blu-rays.
To top it off, Fox will give one consumer $1 million. Codes found on marked discs can be entered on the site.
This is the second straight year Fox has launched a major catalog promotion, with 2010 marking the studio’s 75th anniversary.
