Fox Bows ‘Mindy Project’ Early on VOD

Season two premiere episode, which guest stars James Franco and Chloë Sevigney, streams for free a week ahead of Sept. 17 broadcast

Fox Broadcasting Co. Sept. 10 said it will make available for free online the premiere episode of the second season of “The Mindy Project” — a week ahead of its Sept. 17 initial broadcast.

“The Mindy Project’’ stars “The Office” alum Mindy Kaling, who also created and co-writes the series.

The premiere episode is available on demand via participating multichannel video program distributors. It is also available on Fox.com, Fox Now, Xbox 360, Hulu, Windows 8 and Roku, along with iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Vudu and YouTube, among others.

In the episode, “All My Problems Solved Forever,” Mindy (Kaling) and Casey (guest star Anders Holm) adjust to their new life in Haiti, but their blissful time is cut short when Mindy suddenly falls ill and is airlifted back to New York. Meanwhile, Schulman & Assoc. welcomes its new resident OB/GYN, Dr. Paul Leotard (guest star James Franco), a charming, former model who also happens to be a sex therapist and offers sex therapy advice to Danny (Chris Messina) and Christina (guest star Chloë Sevigny).
