Leslie Sansone has teamed with ExerciseTV to help raise funds for the American Heart Association.
ExerciseTV will donate to the AHA 10% of the sale price of every one of Sansone’s “Start! Walking at Home” DVDs sold from April 1, 2009, to March 30, 2012. The titles include Leslie Sansone: Start Walking at Home 1 & 2 Mile Walk and Leslie Sansone: Start Walking at Home 3 Mile Fast-Paced Walk. The DVDs were previously available through ExerciseTV. Anchor Bay is releasing them to retail Feb. 1 (prebook Jan. 5). Both DVDs cost $14.98 each.
The “Start! Walking at Home” titles will carry the AHA’s logo on the box art and are produced in cooperation with AHA, which also endorses the titles.
This is the first time the AHA has teamed with a DVD fitness brand. This partnership with Sansone is part of AHA’s major fundraiser Start! Heart Walk. This year, more than 1 million walkers will participate, raising funds in more than 450 locations around the country.
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in the United States, according to the group.
“Walking is one of the best, and easiest, things people can do to prevent it,” Sansone says.
