Jackie Warner Brings Her Gym to Your Home31 Jul, 2009 By: Angelique Flores
Jackie Warner is bringing her personal training into consumers’ living rooms.
The star of Bravo’s “Work Out” series and owner of Sky Sport & Spa in Beverly Hills, Calif., has a new DVD: Personal Training With Jackie: Power Circuit Training, which streets from Anchor Bay Entertainment Dec. 1 (prebook Oct. 29) at $14.98.
The DVD features Warner’s circuit-training workouts, which can run up to $400 per hour at her gym. The workouts can be broken up into a 15-minute, 30-minute or 40-minute total-body circuit workout, and a 15-minute abs workout. She employs her technique of power burn and taking muscles to failure, resulting in substantially more growth and fat burn capacity, she said.
“This DVD is the truest replication of one of my workouts,” Warner said. “The idea of working your muscle not with reps but to failure is the fastest way to tone and what I teach at SkySport.”
Warner opened Sky Sport & Spa in 2002 and has helped sculpt a number of celebrity bodies. Warner’s show, “Work Out,” which aired on Bravo from 2006 to 2008, was a reality show set in Sky Sport & Spa, where such celebs as Paul McCartney, Kathy Griffin, Maria Shriver, America Ferrera, Amanda Peet, Amber Tamblyn, Kerry Washington and Alanis Morissette train.
She is regularly featured in major magazines as an expert in fitness and transforming your body, said Julie Cartwright, SVP of brand marketing for Anchor Bay Entertainment.
Having had success with her fitness center and TV show, Warner decided to bring her workouts to DVD last year.
“I’ve had thousands of people ask me for tips and I constantly write workouts for magazines,” Warner said. “Giving the consumer an affordable way to work out with me is fulfilling.”
Her first DVD, One-on-One Training, released in May 2008 by Lionsgate, shot to No. 1 on Video Scan’s fitness charts in 2008, according to Anchor Bay.
And Anchor Bay expects the same success from this sophomore DVD from Warner.
“She’s well-known as a trainer to the stars, so consumers know that Jackie’s training techniques work,” Cartwright said. “Over 17 million people watched the most recent season of Bravo’s ‘Work Out.’ I think people relate to both her hard and soft edges. She’s a tough trainer and she’s motivating.”
This won’t be the last we see of Warner. She just shot a new pilot for Bravo and will be shooting again in the spring, she said.
“[And] I have thousands of ideas for new DVDs, but one at a time!” she said.
