12 Feb, 2013 By: Ashley Ratcliff

Kidvid giants HIT Entertainment and NCircle Entertainment have partnered on the inaugural DVD release of Nick Jr. staple “Mike the Knight.”

CG-animated adventure Mike the Knight: Knight in Training will hit store shelves in June. The series brings excitement and medieval enchantment to young viewers with hero Mike and trusty horse Galahad, friendly dragons Squirt and Sparkie, and his wizard-in-training sister, Evie.

Children join Mike on knightly missions, where they learn problem-solving, self-confidence and how to do the right thing, reinforced with the hero’s rally cry: “Be a knight, do it right!”

Mike the Knight is a charming property that has proven to have wide appeal to preschoolers in the U.S. and internationally,” said Debbie Ries, NCircle’s SVP and GM.  “Its fantasy/historical genre, along with its positive pro-social messages, make it a superb addition to NCircle’s roster of quality children’s programming. We look forward to transporting Mike the Knight and his friends from the realm of Glendragon to DVD.”

Andrea Carpenter, HIT’s group director of home entertainment — U.S. and Canada, added: “With over 25 years of building children’s brands and their hands-on management approach, we are excited to partner with NCircle to launch the home entertainment program for HIT’s newest property, ‘Mike the Knight.’ NCircle’s creativity and dedicated expertise in children’s and family entertainment will be key to making ‘Mike the Knight’ in home entertainment a success in a competitive and continually evolving retail environment.”
