Premium content platform Epix Oct. 23 promoted Keary Hanan to SVP of digital programming and production from VP, executive managing editor. In this new position, Hanan guides overall digital strategy at the network while overseeing implementation and day-to-day operations.
She will continue to be responsible for Epix’s digital presence, including utilizing content from Epix’s originals and from its studio partners and co-owners Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM. In addition, Hanan will serve as the lead in building an online community for the network through Epix’s social platforms.
For the past five years Hanan has been a driving force in the launch of Epix on all platforms, including online, apps, and on devices such as PS3, Xbox, Roku, iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, among others.
Hanan is based in New York and will continue to report to chief digital officer Emil Rensing.
Meanwhile, Epix also re-hired Monty Sarhan to the position of EVP of programming, acquisitions, strategy and enterprises.
Sarhan, who helped launch Epix in 2009 before leaving for World Wrestling Entertainment, will lead the platform’s program development, scheduling and acquisition teams and oversee the network’s overall programming strategy as well as its relationships with studio owners and key suppliers.
Sarhan will be based in New York and reports to CEO Mark Greenberg.
