Seeking to widen its consumer appeal, multiplatform pay-TV channel Epix is launching a nationwide advertising campaign.
New York-based Epix April 9 said the “We Get Big Movies” campaign launches April 27 with the “Marvel Heroes Weekend” — a three-day event featuring movies Iron Man 2, Thor and the U.S. broadcast TV premiere of Captain America.
The “Heroes Weekend” will be hosted by Avengers (and Spider-Man) creator Stan Lee.
The free preview will be available to more than 30 million cable households. It will be supported by spots on all the major networks, billboards and print publications, including The New York Times, New York Post and the Los Angeles Times.
Epix, which is co-owned by Lionsgate, Paramount and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, features more than 150 movies on demand, in addition to a catalog of more than 3,000 other titles.
