Warner Adds 15 MOD Titles to Warner Archive Collection23 Apr, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey
Warner Bros. has added 15 more titles to its Warner Archive Collection (WarnerArchive.com), the manufacturing on demand (MOD) DVD program Warner launched in late March.
“The launch of Warner Archive exceeded our wildest expectations,” said George Feltenstein, SVP of theatrical catalog marketing for Warner Home Video. “We’ve had such a tremendous response to this effort to the point where we had to bring additional resources online to meet demand. Clearly there is an insatiable appetite for classic movies and television shows.”
The added films bring the total available to 165, more than half of Warner’s stated goal for the service for the full year. New titles include Thousands Cheer, with Gene Kelly and Judy Garland, and A Woman Rebels, with Katharine Hepburn.
Warner is also launching a podcast series, hosted by Feltenstein, featuring archived interviews with stars, radio editions of films and more. The podcast will be available on iTunes.
