Anime purveyors Viz Media will offer the latest episode of popular series “Naruto Shippuden” Jan. 15, 2009, days after its air date in Japan on the official “Naruto” Web site, www.naruto.com. As part of a new multimedia plan for the series, a new English-subtitled episode will then appear every Thursday.
On Jan. 2, 2009, Viz will also debut eight episodes from the beginning of the series on www.Naruto.com. Each Friday following that, eight more episodes will appear until the Web offerings have caught up to the series’ current third season. An exclusive sneak peek of the show will appear on the site this week.
“This kind of accelerated and coordinated broadcast and publishing schedule is a first for Viz Media, and we are very excited to bring new episodes of ‘Naruto Shippuden’ to millions of eager domestic fans for free with this special campaign,” said Alvin Lu, VP of production, Viz Media.
Previously aired “Naruto” episodes also are available to stream on such sites as Hulu and Joost.
