USC Tech. Center, TM Forum Team for Digital Distribution Studies28 Apr, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey
The Entertainment Technology Center at the University of Southern California (ETC@USC) has teamed with the TM Forum, a worldwide communications, entertainment and media industry association.
The informal partnership aims at “eliminating the barriers to new distribution revenues for content and communication services providers,” according to ETC@USC.
“The liaison … is related very much to our highly-successful content sector and value chains initiative,” said Jim Warner, vice chairman and head of content media and advertising for TM Forum. “Initial work will focus on the interactions between content owners and communications providers in order to radically simplify the creation, distribution and monetization of digital media services.”
During the next three months, the two groups will work on digital distribution issues, standards and areas of potential revenue for both content owners and service providers.
