Report: PC to TV Connections More Common2 Mar, 2011 By: Chris Tribbey
A full third of American broadband users connect a PC to their TV at least once a year, going against previous notions that the behavior was limited to early adopters or highly technical consumers, according to a report from The Diffusion Group.
“Let’s be honest: When most of us think about net-to-TV connectivity, the last platform we envision is the PC, when in fact it is a popular net-to-TV video platform,” said Michael Greeson, founding partner and director of research at TDG.
Among the third of consumers who said they connected their PC to a TV, 16.8% do it once a day, while 21.4% do it a few times a week. Eighteen- to 34-year-olds by far made up the majority of those connecting the two devices, while half of the PC-to-TV segment said they spent money each month for online video.
