MySpace, Endemol Partner for ‘Get Married on MySpace’19 Jan, 2009 By: Michael Lee
Social network MySpace and entertainment programming company Endemol have partnered for a new Web reality series where one couple will get the wedding of their dreams — on the condition that the MySpace community can plan and experience their wedding day. The series will be called “Get Married on MySpace.”
MySpace users will be able to influence almost every aspect of the wedding, from casting the couple, selecting the bride’s dress and choosing the couple’s rings to picking the wedding location through an ongoing voting system. The series will be made up of 13 webisodes and conclude with a live wedding ceremony in which the key details chosen by the MySpace community will be revealed.
The “Get Married on MySpace” video channel and series profile page will showcase exclusive series content including profiles of the wedding party, behind-the-scenes video footage and video blogs from the bride and groom chronicling all the highs and lows that come along with planning a wedding.
“The interactive viewing experience has truly transformed entertainment as we know it, and we at Endemol are proud to be at the forefront of this trend,” said Joerg Bachmaier, SVP of digital media and business development at Endemol USA. “We are thrilled to partner with MySpace to deliver this unique format to the digital space.”
